Not a dry eye in the house when Iīm leaving Maylen & Ottos for the airport but could you blame them.  There is a rather large tropical storm heading to Habana and I just want to make sure that I get out before that hits.  I love the place but it is time to move on.  Iīve been advised to be at the airport 3 hours before hand even though my flight is less that an hour.  At the airport the flight is up there and on time.  Fly through immigration and have to pay 25CUC departure tax.  What a rip off.  Right lets see what duty free has to offer .... ah not much.  It is even more of a rip off than the shops in Habana.  Hmmmm not my flight is showing a 1.5 hour delay, I just hope that Iīm not stranded here.  More book reading and wandering about a very limited airport.  10 min to departure and nothing stirring at the gate and what is worse when the airline staff are asked they just shrug their shoulders.  What I donīt like is it appears that our aircraft has been on the ground all along so I hope that they are not out there fixing a problem.  Just what my over active imagination needs to be thinking about.  10 min after our adjusted scheduled departure time and they finally start to board us.  I will never complain about Ryan air again as this was an old Russian bucket of rust.  My table top came off in my hand and if I leaned back in my seat, I ended up in the lap of the lady behind me.  Brilliant.  As the plan trundled down the runway I think I said every prayer that I knew including grace before meals.  This was the longest hour of my life as I listened to every creek and groan but as usual my drama was unfounded and we landed safely.  Got a "collectivo" or shared taxi to Playa del Carmen from where I got the ferry to Cozumel.  Once checked into my hotel I was straight to the dive shop to sign up for my dives.  Good news here is that we have some very experienced divers for tomorrow so we will be able to get some advanced dives in.  Excellent!

Bleedinīphone still isnīt working and it is now starting to bug me not being able to contact home with a text or call.  Went for a Mexican dinner and the chili rating was hot.  As I take a walk about before heading back to the hotel I find an internet cafe and I fall to my knees and thank god that I can finally get in touch with people.  Even better is that it is dirt cheap here.

Liking Mexico so far but the one thing that is bugging me is that all the prices are in USD and in Pesos.  Have to admit that this is slightly confusing as when you do the conversion the two donīt always equate. I stick with pesos and I think the rate is about 17 pesos= 1 euro.
