Yes this is the same national park named after famous hunter Jim Corbett. Situated in the exotic valley of Uttaranchal approximately 250km from the capital city of India Delhi makes it one of the sought after weekend gateway. This place was once known for its famous man-eaters who were killed by none other than the man Corbett himself. His books like Man-eaters of Kumaon and the man-eating leopard of Rudraprayag are still read by people from all over the world. Jim Corbett museum is located in Kaladungi 35km from the park and it's a must visit for those wildlife enthusiast. The museum housing souvenirs, relics, momentous related to Jim Corbett and his famous exploits.
Corbett National Park remains open throughout the year for the visitors from Jhrina zone but the best time to visit Corbett is from 15th November to 15th June because during this period of time all the tourism zones of Corbett are open for visitors.
To be honest tiger sighting is very difficult here due to dense forest and topography. This is also home to other species such as elephant, leopard, wild boar, jungle cat, deer and different varieties of flora. So try to enjoy the beauty of the place if you get glimpse of the tiger add as icing on cake and if not don’t be disappoint as nature has so much in her kitty.
