Wellington

We had decided Wellington, New Zealand as the best locale for overseas travel. When we started from Mumbai on 5th Oct 2009, we had no choice but to halt for eleven hours at Sydney airport. Though our two bags were to be off-loaded at Wellington, we were forced to unload them at Sydney and had to go through custom check.

The ground staff at the Sydney airport were impolite and rude in their behaviour. When we reached airport at 8pm, they told that the airport closes at 11 pm and we had to leave the airport before that. There is no provision at the airport for transit passengers to stay between 11pm and 4am as told by them, they rudely confirmed.

Later on, an African lady politely showed us the resting place in the premises where several transit passengers were taking rest and we too could spend time till our next flight.
A survey conducted in America and Britain found that Australians show mean attitude.

The swearing was the issue that most divides Australians from their international business colleagues.

A quarter of Australians say it is perfectly acceptable to swear while doing business, while almost all of the English and Americans surveyed found it deeply offensive.

Australians are also considered rude when they speak too loudly, take personal calls at work and pry into the personal life of co-workers or business partners.

Australians are the most obnoxious filthy people on earth.

Alan from Australia on

So basically your story is about something that happened with your plane company, and you had to stay in the airport overnight. Perhaps this issue is better taken up with your airline company, rather than the entire country of Australia.
