Today we started the drive to El Calafate to see the Moreno Glacier, camp is in a field on the side of the road (not so many campsites in this part of Patagonia). I wandered off to take some photos and came back to a superb dinner of sausage stew and chips - real chips and loads of ´em, what a treat! It was Sabine´s birthday and Rachel had made a Banoffee Pie, but we all had to help to whip the (single) cream cos it was really runny and we only had hand whisks. After spending an hour on it Brendan appeared and suggested we attach a whisk to the end of his drill - you can imagine the mess when that baby kicked off...! Anyway it was a great dessert in the end, followed by the coldest night yet with howling winds - I had to leave the tent to go to the loo in the early hours (bearing in mind we´re so far south the nights don´t get pitch black so everyone can see what you´re up to), I was so cold when I got back in the tent that I was shaking, I thought I´d never get warm again. Yep, THAT´S cold!

The following day was just a lot of driving, punctuated by us having to pull another truck out of its trench in the mud, but the truck got so muddy (only on one side though for some reason) that I thought I´d share a photo with you.
