Spend last 4 days acclimitizing to 31 degree celsius weather, sand, dirt, dust, air pollution, innmerable touts selling goods and services. Dakar is a big sprawling somewhat chaotic city. Board Dakar-Bamako express train, now owned by a Canadian company for a 35 plus hour journey to Bamako, Mali. The 1st class cars are unbelievable--broken toilet and sink, no running water, seat arms missing, seats in a great state of disrepair. The train car was a 2nd class wagon in France 50 years ago and it looks like there has been no maintenance!
