Well after nearly 3 months, I am nearly touristed out! No great burning desire to do this or that aside from enjoying the warm Mombasa sun and getting 3 to 4 hours of walking in each day. I don't often go to museums because the streets and alleyways are my museum of what people are doing and how they are living today. For example when wandering through Old Town(Arabic streets and alleys), I see a banner across one of the streets proclaiming support for the Liverpool Football(soccer)Team, "You'll Never Walk Alone". Everyone loves English Premier League teams eg Chelsea, Arsenal. Manchester United, Liverpool. I walked to historic Fort Jesus but wasn't interested in roaming through the fort, especially for $13. US..Mombasa has an interesting mixture of Arabs, native blacks, and Hindu Indians, many of the latter had been brought to Africa generations ago to build their railway. Occasionally they were eaten by lions.Of course in North America, we brought in the Chinese to do the same but fortunately they didn't end up as lion fodder. Had two great seafood meals, garlic fish and garlic crab!! These I will try to re-create at home. Now it is a few more hours to my Mombasa to Nairobi train departure. I will have a bed and be fed! Sounds great!
