Sgarfefurlans is a project-documentary of Comunità Collinare del Friuli, financed by Servizio Identità Linguistiche e Corregionali all' Estero of Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia and carried out by Informazione Friulana - Radio Onde Furlane.
On 30/11/07 Loris Vescovo left from Friuli-Italy in december 2007 for a long trip though Londra, Singapore, Sydney, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Brisbane, Cairns, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Peking, to interview Friulian expats in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand e China. The objective of the documentary was to collect stories about Friulians old and new emigration. More than 40 expats have been interviewed.
Sgarfefurlans supports the use of the mother-tongue on the internet, focusing on Friulian minority language and migration. The Friulians interviewed around the world play a very important role for cultural diversity and can be considered as a bridge between the old and the new migrations. Sgarfefurlans aim is to enhance dialogue and exchange, protecting the Friulian cultural heritage, promoting new media and international information networks.
