just outside of guadalajara is los guyabas eco village. we stayed there with our host sergio and his familia.
it was so beautiful and peaceful and we ate guyavas till we puked. not literally. we would have but the free roming horses ate our whole bucket we picked for ourselves so they saved us from puking.
there was a fresh water lake with an awesome traverse zipline! and an inground pool and muchos perros y guyabas.
50 families live in this lovely gated community. there is wild fruit trees and gardens everywhere and the hugest tallest bamboo i have ever seen and lots of people make stuff out of it like car ports and fences and terraces.
the mama cooked us really good food and sergio met us in town in his car at like 2 am when we were lost. people pay hundreds to visit places like this. we paid nothing. couchsurfing.org.
and thanks to everyone who is kind and open and honest and trusting enough to help and befriend total strangers. its a very good thing.
