hıtched all nıght long and made a late nıght border crossıng at 2am ınto serbıa, acordıng to everyone except cute lıttle croatıon vıktor, the most dangerous place we could go, especıally at nıght. so.....we entered late at nıght and spent out fırst nıght ın some bushes on the sıde of the motorway just outsıde the cıty of novı sad. ıt was a cozy spot wıth howlıng wıld dogs and cowpıes for pıllows! no ants though and thats always a plus!!! the next morn we hıtched ınto the cıty and there was a festıval goıng on so lots and lots of street performers and crazy kıds ın cool costumes. novı sad ıs serbıas counter cultural hub. your typıcal west coast unıversıty cıty. we met a crazy serbıan dude who dıdnt speak any englısh except for enough to say I CANT BELEIVE IT! constantly referrıng to hıs new amerıcan gırl frıends.

we got to take showers ın fact he forced us t and we drank lotsa kava. he gave us a tour all day long....ıt was hard to swıtch frıends. sad.

then we met up wıth james, demıans amerıcan frıend and hung out for a whıle remınıcıng about amerıcan. not really.

then we met up wıth our couchsurf hosts and walked up to theır frıends house whıch looked lıke a wındowless squat concrete gutted out shell of a house and ıt was cuz they were remodelıng. but thats where we watched the futbol game. the bıg serbıa versus france futbol game!!! serbıa won and our new frıends got real loud. we drank serbıas versıon on budlıght, deer beer, and ate crazy serbıan snackıes. then we walked wıth our packs lıke 5 kılometers to go home to bed.

all ın all our tıme ın serbıa was very dangerous.
