After a long flight via Lima in Peru I arrived at Caracas Maiquetia airport. Right away you could feel the Caribbean as when leaving the plane I was struck by a heatwave.
I got into a cab and went to my hotel the Radisson Eurobuilding in Caracas. We were stuck in a traffic jam for over an hour and finally I got to my hotel. I just unpacked, ate in the restaurant and went to bed.
The next day was a national holiday in Venezuela so I had the day off to explore the city. I met up with a Venezuelan boy and his friend and we had lunch together. We then walked through the shopping mall and then went to the cable cars to climb mount Avila. Going up on the cable car gave us a great view of the city.

On top of the mountain the temperature was cooler and felt more european. Maybe thats the reason why there was a german village here. These germans came here some generations ago and settled here and never mixed with locals. So up on the hill suddenly people are blonde, speak german, brew their own beer and since it was oktober they were also celebrating Oktober-fest in their lederhosen and eating Bratwurst. It was odd to see but funny at the same time. We joined the crowd and drank local beer. After all this we went down and went our separate ways untill we would meet again in the evening to go clubbing. They came to my hotel, we drank all the alcohol in the minibar and drunk we went to a gayclub in Caracas. Since it was during the week it was kinda empty but still we had fun as we were drunk anyways.

The next day I had to go to my meetings. I did everything by taxi as it is a very dangerous city. After the meetings I went to the hotel to relax and eat and pack my bag to finally go home the next day!
