I finally landed in India, very late at night. Fortunately, my backpack also arrived safely. Clearing customs and immigration took little time, and I purchased a domestic airline ticket to Bangalore. Then I settled in for a long night in the domestic section, much newer than the international one, of the Mumbai airport.

Simon, a Mexican guy sitting next to me on the flight from Paris, was also en route to Bangalore. His flight was at 3am, and mine at 6:40am. We chatted briefly on the plane and lost track of each other in the airport. He did find me before boarding his flight and took my picture.

I had opted to sit on the floor next to a family on a small bench. The mother returned with some crackers and tea. After offering the crackers to her husband and daughter, she insisted that I have some too. We ended up talking for a long time, mostly about spirituality. She also practices yoga. Her circumstances are very unusual -- Indian, with Canadian citizenship, living in Houston. Her children live in the States, and most of her family is still in India. She goes home for about 4-6 months a year. Talking to her was a nice break between the times I tried to sleep on the cold floor of the airport.
