This is how Lord Byron described the Montenegrin coast at his time. There is little to add or subtract from his words - you have to see for yourself the power of impression that prompted the great poet to write such beautiful words.
Of some 300 kilometers of coast line, as much as fifty two kilometers belongs to the beaches, the most beautiful merging of sun, sea and land. There are larger and smaller ones, sandy, rocky and shingle beaches... more than a hundred. They decorate the Montenegrin coast, embellish the coastal towns and offer excellent conditions for holidays and recreation. Some of them look at the open sea, while others are wild and hidden in bays, accessible only by boat. The beaches are located at the rivieras of Herceg Novi, Tivat, Kotor, Budva, Bar and Ulcinj.
The part from Jaz to Buljarice is the realm of the most visited, largest and most beautiful Montenegrin beaches, which alternate in »waves« with the high limestone cliffs. Here are the towns Budva and Petrovac, and between them the hotel town Sveti Stefan, the jewel of the whole coast.

The varied relief is a real treasure. Too many coves, cliffs, islands, and reefs (the largest island is Sveti Nikola, two kilometers long), and particularly the existence of 17 lovely beaches are of great importance for developing holiday centers. That is a distinctive tourist area is seen in the fact that Becici (800m, different colours and granulation) was proclaimed by international experts (Paris, 1935.) the most beautiful beach in the Mediterranean. Since it represents a natural heritage, the beaches of the Budva Riviera are under special protection.

BEACHES IN BUDVA RIVIERA:

City beaches - Mogren 1&2
These two beaches stretch from cape called Mogren to the Avala Hotel. Their natural conditions make them the most attractive beaches, with a sand of medium particle size, both on the beach itself and in water. The beach is well exposed to sun and southerly wind. From backside it is protected by the hill of Spas whish is overgrown with dense pine and oak forest.

The beach is a accessible by narrow path going through Avala hotel complex. It is 150 m away from Budva“s old town. Mogren IMogren consists of two sandy beaches 350 m long, which are connected with a tunnel. These beaches were named after the Spanis seaman Mogrini, who had a shipwreck and landed at one of them. As a sign of gratitude he built church devoted to St. Antony.

Jaz Beach

Jaz beach is one of the three largest beaches on the Montenegrin Coast. It is 1200m long and it is 2.5 km north from Budva.
Jaz is a sandy beach, both in the water and on the beach. It is ideal for campers because in its background is situated a camp with the capacity of 2000 places. It is surrounded by dense Mediterranean vegetation.

Becici beach

It is considered to be one of the most beautiful and largest beaches on the south part of the Adriatic Sea. It is sandy, 1950m long and goes from Zavale to Djevistenja. In 1935 it won the "Grand Prix" in Paris as the most beautiful beach in Europe.

As a part of the background there is a complex tourist settlement. It can be considered to be a bathing zone, sport zone, the zone for recreation and relaxation in well managed parks, with different sport terrains, and of course the area of all types of accommodations.

Buljarica beach
Buljarica field and the slopes of Dubovica hill are very convenient for the development of tourism. Buljarica cove stretches from "Resovo brdo" cove to Dubovica, and is a largest beach of Budva Riviera. It is 1 km away from Petrovac towards Bar, and is 2250 m long, pebbly. There are a few auto camp sites.

Drobni poijesak beach

The terrain towards the south, towards Petrovac, is such that it caused the formation a few small beaches. They are accessible only from the sea. The Drobni beach is distinctive for its beauty. It is situated in a hidden valley and it is 250m long. As its sand is yellow-white is reminiscent of tropical beaches, and as the background is overgrown with olives it is called "wild". There is a spring of drinking water and a few restaurants on the beach. Drobni beach is a favorite vacation area of many people.

Kamenovo beach
Kamenovo beach is the first one in the succession of about 16 smaller beaches of Budva Riviera. It is situated between Becici and Przno. The beach and the sea bottom are sandy. Kamenovo beach is easily accessed because of the vicinity of the high way. It is 730m long.

In its background there is the same named hotel with apartments, annexes, resturants, cafes, well managed parks with different kinds of Mediterranean vegetation

St.Stephan  beach

At this, for many people the most attractive spot of all the Adriatic coast, we come across a very rare natural phenomenon the "tombola". It is a sandy isthmus that connects the coast with the crag, on which St. Stefan, the exclusive town-hotel is built. There are two sandy beaches on the left and on the right side of the "tombola". The sand is reddish and the beaches are 1170m long. In the background there are restaurants, cafes, a hotel, a diving club and a parking lot. All this is situated in a park that is arranged in Mediterranean style. St. Stefan is the only deluxe location on the Montenegrin seaside, and its exclusiveness has been famous in the world for a long time. The most popular people have gladly come here to spend their vacations. Some of the guests were Willy Brandt, Bob Fisher, Sofia Loren, Monica Vitti, Ingemar Stenmark, Sylvester Stallone, Claudia Schiffer, etc. Among the recognitions that St. Stefan has received, is the prized Golden Apple award (1964) from Life magazine.
