Christmas in salto,
Wow where to start, I really had an amazing christmas I had no idea what to expect, But you know ill admit after traveling a fair bit in the past few years, Not much really surprises me.
That being said I was amazed in salto, I had such a great time Im really lucky everything worked out how it did, My family here as ive said many times is just amazing.

The day time (dec 24)
Starts out really relax, It almost doesnt even feel like X-mas. Then around 6-7 all the girls start getting dressed really nice, and at 10 pm we went to my cousin pedros house where there was tons of people lots of drinks and great food.

At midnight everyone in the whole town (whole country) Goes outside and starts shooting off fireworks and firecrackers, Its Beyond words.
The govt and private buenesses are NOT involved at all, its all households mostly children and their fathers, So at midnight every direction you look theres fireworks and firecrackers going off, Really amazing.

Afterword the fireworks, We all went in the house and opened presents, in a much more unorderly way then im used to in canada (everyone just tears em open at once :P)
Papa noel (santa) even found me in salto and brought me a couple nice T-Shirts.

My cousin rosina had made a PhotoCD of all the past years photos, Im not a sentimental person, But it was really sweet and touching the whole family gathered around and laughed and enjoyed photos of the past year.

Around 2-3am Everyone between 14-30 (more being the younger of the 2 ages) Headed To a massive field party sorta like an after grad, but better, all the bars intown had joined to make one massive party in the middle of know where i guess rather then having drunks wondering around the streets in town all over the place, The Event was heavily policed.
I got home around 7am.

I woke up at 11am on the 25th to be rushed back to my cousin pedros house for christmas day lunch, needless to say i was really tired after maybe getting 3-4 hours of sleep and being slightly hung over.

After a desperatly needed siesta we returned to pedros One last time For a christmas day Evening dinner. Was really great.

Well thats the short summerized version.
Beyond that today is my last day in salto, i am off to paysandu tomorrow at noon To visit some other family and a 15th b-day party, After that i think im gonna start the backpacking portion of my trip and go into argentina.

Happy holidays
