Where I stayed
It also has an awesome central street that goes on for blocks filled with restaurents and cafes and of course pubs and clubs.
I´m also told by my trusty guild book that theres even more stuff going on at the lake which is 10 blocks away from the central plaza.
While there is lots of tourists its not overload like in antigua where it seems to have stolen the charm of the place, its a nice mix, more then suchitoto which only had local tourism and a few peace corps volunteers and less then antigua a nice mix for what i think is probably my last colonial town on this trip (theres only so many volcanos colonial towns and ruins one can take in a few weeks before they lose there charm)
With the tourism comes the downsides.
Prices are really high, here they charge IVA which is like a goods and service take plus manadorty tip which makes a 6 dollar meal 9 dollars OUCH take that ol pocket book.
I´m scared to think how much the drinks will be tonight when i go out dancing.
As well the people selling everything you can dream of while you are trying to enjoy the city are back as are people asking for money etc... I almost had hoped i had left that behind in guatemala, although its too be expected.
So thats about all oh mom My hostel has free internet but no msn thus you probably won´t see me on msn until i A)use a cyber cafe or B) move on to the next city in a few days.
Short term plan
After granda im thinking to check out isla de ometepe and then maybe a couple days on the pacific coast enjoying the beach in san juan del sur as i heard i may not get much beach time on the caribean side as its been plauged by bad weather and no one seems to know where and when is which rainy season.
After san juan i´m into Costa rica and hopefully can break up the trip by stoping in monteverde which is suposed to be really nice.
between costa rica and panama i should easily be able to burn up whats left of my trip and from the sounds of it my pocket book as they are the 2 most expensive countries here.
thats all folks
