This lil town Was so vibrant we visited on a sunday afternoon and the shopping / cafe area was so packed at times some cafes were standing room only, i think perhaps it was the first sunny day in a while and everyone wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather however i also have noticed in the balkans everyone enjoys hanging out and socializing whenever possible.
Its Really something here in Kosovo unlike anywhere i've ever been You'll be sitting down sipping on a espresso or beer depending on your Vice and see some random Nato soldiers just stroll down the street with rifles and side arms.

Kosovo is one of those places that you just have to visit and spend time in to really understand the complex nature of the whole situation.
Most towns are divided by a river and in some this river Represents the divide of the town with Orthodox serbs on one side and Muslim Albanians living on the other neither side crossing the river and by river i mean 10 feet wide stream really.
Its really been an eye opener over the past few months everywhere i've gone in my travels, be it middle east or now the balkans you goto these places where they look the same eat the same food speak the language etc... The only thing dividing people and sometimes causing them to commit horrible acts is Religion.
roughly 15 years ago this is sorta what happened without going into huge details 3 groups ended up in a 3 way civil war the croats *catholic* the Bosniaks muslim and the serbs Orthodox as well there was the Ethnic albanians caught in the middle of the whole situation.
Anyways thats a super simple sum up plz feel free to look further into it.
