This mud is good for your skin. It's, as the Korean's say for everything, Well-being. But honestly, the mud made my skin so soft and smooth. I love it!!! After taking an insanely long shower, making sure I was totally clean... I come out still dirty. My ears, nose.... everywhere, still had mud. Two days later, I was still finding mud. hehehe.
Mudfest was held on at Daechon Beach. The Yellow Sea is where I swam this weekend. The Yellow Sea should be called the Brown Sea. It was so dirty. And the tide, I can't believe how much the tide went up and down in one day. I've never seen anything like it.
The coast guard people are so anal here. They wouldn't let people swim past a certain distance... me the midget here, still able to keep my head above water, couldn't swim past my own height. If you did, they blew their whistles at you. After 6:30, we weren't allowed to go swimming. More whistle blowing if you go past knee height. Turns out, most Korean's don't know how to swim.
Speaking of Korean's and swimming... they go into the Sea with their regular clothes on. Very few of them had bathing suits on. It was so weird. Shorts and t-shirts, and they're in the water. Odd.
So back to mudfest, there was a wrestling pit, a huge mud slide, a mud prision... if you were not covered in mud, you go in there and get doused in mud, a mud obstacle course and mud body painting.
I must say, being covered in mud is a great way to get picked up by people... for all you who are looking to get picked up. I got so many, "you're dirty" lines.
At night, when we weren't in the mud, we'd hang out by the beach. Saturday night, there were some pretty amazing fire works
On Sunday it rained off and on the whole day. It was so much fun. Being on the beach and it's pouring rain. For dinner that night we went to a seafood restaurant. The seafood was all picked out by our friends. And mom and dad... you'll be proud of me. I ate fish. Mom, I was like you, picking the fish apart. I ate the eyes. Yum! I also ate Sea Snails. They were a bit odd, chewy and odd taste. After dinner we hung around the beach and drank again. Set off some Roman Candles (fire crackers). Then we stumbled upon an amusement park. It was small, but it had the coolest ride in the entire universe. It was like the gravitron, but you are sitting down and not straped in. It spins around and moves up and down and when are are at the top, the operator bumps the ride so you fall out of your seat. This is sooooooo hard to explain. When I get my computer back, you'll have to see the pictures to understand... cuz I don't think my explanation made any sense.
Oh almost forgot...So, Saturday night, we were heading back to the hotel and we notice a big crowd. (this you will have to use your imagination cuz I have no pictures of it) Off to the side I see a scooter all smashed up, there was an accident. The guy who was in the accident was standing on top of a police car with no shirt
I also want to add... one room, 7 people, no beds. Not Fun. :)
Take care. Until after China!!!
