Arrived at The fabulous Sheriff Lodge Inn at about 5pm. This B and B is one of the best in the Peak District and has numerous recommendations on Trip Advisor. The people who run it are very friendly and the rooms are spotlessly clean.
In the evening and after a little post journey snooze we walked into Matlock for a romantic evening meal. The people at Sheriff Lodge recommended a restaurant called G and Ts down on the riverside. We were glad we tried it. It is a lovely little place that serves a mixture of French and English cuisine. Pauline tried the lobster thermador which she had never had before. I just went for a chicken breast. My treat was watching P struggle with getting meat from the lobster. The staff gave her a tool box full of eating irons and pliers to open the claws. She made a huge mess but did enjoy it very much.
