Well since we left Wellington we have been busy little bees, travelling around the North Island trying to see everything. Our next stop after Wellington was a nice little coastal spot called Naiper. Spent the night there and then onwards again.
The places we where anything remotely interesting happened was Roturua and Matamatta.
Sein did Zorbing in Rotoura and said that it was deadly craic, which he looked like it actually was. I didnt bother doing it (no not because im boring if thats what your thinking) i just couldnt justify the additional 50 dollars it was going to cost to roll down a hill in a giant bubble for 10 seconds. Sein enjoyed though and that was the main thing because hes been talking about doing since Oz.
Matamatta was next Port of call and we did the Lord of the Rings Hobbiton Tour there and it was deadly. We got to be hobbits for the day.
Some interesting facts for you to note, that its the only place in New Zealand where any of the original set is left from the movie because by order of Contract all other sets that were constructed for the movie had to be destroyed and removed after it so it was quite cool that we got to visit the Shire. The Shire was built over a period of 9 months on a 12,000 acre farm owned by a New Zealand couple (imagine the amount of dosh that they made). You wouldn't believe some of the stuff that they did while they were making the set, one particular thing, is that the Tree on top of Bilbo Baggins house (Bagend) which you see in the 1st movie for the whole of about 20 seconds was chopped down in Wellington and and cut up into pieces, flown to Mattamatta where the farm is joined back together by blots and screws and leaves were flown in from Taiwan and stiched onto the tree all because Mr. Jackson thought that he looked really cool.  Can you believe that, and thats only one of the 100's of things they did.  It was a deadly tour
You can see us once we add the photos looking like little hobbits in the little houses. Unfortunately the hostel we're in now (not actually a hostel and more of a home house. It belongs to a daughter and mother from South Africa and the mother is about 127 (because she told me she was only messing of course)) has really old computer and internet is shit so cant upload any photos because its taking me long enought to type this. Although we are in a big town there  is only 3 hostels in the whole town and they were all booked this was the only accomadtion we have left.
So thats about the height of the fun for now. We are in Hamilton right now and heading up to the very top of the Island tomorrow.
Have to be in Auckland for the big celebration on Saturday, dinner and ice bars so looking forward to that. So will be back soon with more fun and hopefully photos.
