A tuk tuk for a full day ($15) to take me around plus a licensed tour guide ($25) were necessities, so were the bottled water and the straw hat that I bought outside the entrance; a hat that I had the courage to wear instead of just carrying.
Tickets were: 1 day for $20, 3 days for $40 or 7 days for $60. Visitors had to buy the tickets in person. Each visitor's picture was taken and printed on his ticket. The ticket covered all the sites, which were only accessible through the main gate.
At 5 pm visitors could buy the next-day's ticket and be allowed to go into one of the temples to watch the sunset.
I only did the one-day tour. I picked the most popular 3 temples: Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm. How many temples can u see before u fell into a coma..From 8 am to 2 pm I believe that I had seen the best and left the UNESCO World Heritage sites contented.
