I was there right after a heavy down pour, some lanterns were dark. They were having a problem with electricity after the rain. Glad it wasn't totally dark :)
Lanterns made of wire frames and cloth, with hand painted outlines. From regions in Thailand and from other countries: Japan, India, Vietnam,China, Philippines, Malaysia and Korea.
The lanterns were impressively designed, well made, with elaborated details, as u can see from the pictures...aren't they beautiful !!
..also there were food vendors and circus games.

Wow! I love the pictures! I was at Loy Krathong festival (lantern festival) in Chiang Mai last Noovember and it was so beautiful with all the lanterns floating around in the sky all week. Here's a picture of me lighting my very own lanter! http://tikikiki.com/search/lantern+festival
