We went to the Pinnacles Desert yesterday - very out of this world. We expected a man in a silver suit and a ray-gun to jump out at any minute. Hundreds of sandstone pillars jutting out of the desert. Well worth the 2.5 hour trip from Perth.

The rest of the day included a crazy 4WD ride through the sand dunes. At one point, once we'd done a bit of 4WD-ing, I thought we were going to go sand-boarding. The driver drove to the top of this really steep cliff - but instead of stopping, went straight over it!! I swore. Amanda screamed - and so did the 15 Japanese tourists in the back (we were in the front cabin for that "special view").

We then went sand-boarding - sitting on a purpose designed board, and riding the same fine white sand dune - see photos. All good fun, until a huge storm hit and we couldn't see anything for the sand being blasted into our faces. I've still got sand in my eyes and clothes 2 days later...

Oh and we saw some of those things people call Koala Bears... very cute. One even jumped onto the ground, and walked to another tree - I've never seen one do anything more than sleep of eat before. [A bit like Rodney - Amanda].

Today was a wine tour of the Swan Valley - 5 vineyards, and a chocolate factory. and lots of cheese. We kept looking for Sally (Mrs Mouse) to turn up! Obvioiusly, there are no photos from that due to risk of camera breakage whilst intoxicated.

Tomorrow is our last day in Perth before we hire a car and head down south.
