We decided after getting checked in to take a ride on the St. Charles street car so we found the stop about a block from the hotel and waited and waited, more and more people joined us and we all waited and waited... Finally someone saw it coming so we all lined up nicely on the sidewalk and as it got closer it picked up speed and drove right past us all. It looked pretty full so maybe that's why it just kept going. So we waited for a while longer and so did the others. Some gave up and went to go get cabs and others just walked away. We finally got tired of waiting and decided to go find dinner. We asked the front desk person where within walking distance could we get some good red beans and rice? She told us "go to Daisy Dukes, it's great you will love it" Ok sounds good so she told us how close it was "just right behind the hotel, go out take first left, then another left then a right and you are there". Ok so off we marched - left, left, and right easy.... Well not so much. Took left out front door, took left at corner, then took a right and kept walking and walking. Eventually stepped into a hotel and asked. The man knew of the place "just keep walking the way you are going.. It will be on your right a couple more blocks" ok we thought again and off we went. We finally got the couple more blocks but we saw a sign on the left side of the road that said "Daisey Dukes" the area had become kind of rough looking, but what the heck, there was still plenty of daylight left anyway and we had come so far. We went in and the food was ok, but hardly great nor was it worth hike. We did however get to watch our waitress make what looked like a couple of drug deals with what appeared to be a gang member who came in, didn't order but passed something back and forth to our waitress both times. Interesting to say the least.
Our flight the next morning was reasonably good. I did however notice Tod and I had our future selves sitting in front of us. The man was sitting in front of Tod and was in his 70s, it was funny because the more I looked at this couple, the more similarities I found. The man was wearing a baseball hat, so was Tod, the older Tod had his sunglasses on his hat, so did younger Tod. Older Tod was wearing gray shorts and what I call boat shoes (not sure what they are really called), younger Tod was also wearing gray shorts and boat shoes. I almost bust it in laughter at one point when both were looking out the window from the isle seat and had the same facial expression at the same time. Then I watched the woman in front of me, she had on flip flops, so did I, she had on capris , so did I. Then I watched her tell old Tod to help the woman on the other side of him get her luggage down, I had told young tod the same thing on the previous flight. It was very odd. We got off the plane, gathered our luggage and went to get the shuttle to the car. There were our older dopplegangers waiting for the shuttle too.
Anyway, guess that is it, so until next time :-)
