Yesterday, we began our 15-hour trip home.  Everything went smoothly, and our flight to Seattle even landed 40 minutes early!  Because we were travelling first class on Alaska Airlines, our tickets got us entry to the Board Room lounge, so we hung out there for the majority of our six-hour plus lay-over in Seattle.  We got to watch Obama's speech, too.  Bonus, I think?

The fish was delivered to us in a box, packaged, and frozen, at the airport.  We checked the box.  When we arrived home we opened it and were somewhat surprised to find no insulation whatsoever - just a plastic bag around the fish.  A couple fillets on the edges were getting a little soft, but overall they were still frozen.  We got them right in the freezer.  The tally was something like 30 salmon fillets of about a pound each, 11 rockfish fillet packages which were like 3/4 of a pound each, four ling cod fillet packages, two halibut fillet packages, and one pink salmon (which will be awesome to smoke in the new smoker).  Fifty pounds of fish is, well, quite a bit of fish.  Plenty for two of us, anyway.
Overall, the trip was incredibly relaxing for both of us. It was also nice for the two of us to spend as much time together as we did, especially on the cruise.  I would wholly recommend both the cruise and the fishing lodge - there was nothing we did that we would undo.  It was an especially special trip because we got to see Deirdre and the boys, and also got to spend so much time with Shannon and Stan.  And, thank you to all of you for sharing our trip with us.
