After Adelaide it was back to Sydney to pack up our belongings, send stuff back to the UK, get prepared for Africa and say goodbye to Sydney which has been our home since August. It's not an easy goodbye as we have had such an amazing time living in Manly right on the beach.

We have been very fortunate in the jobs we've had as well as the opportunities to explore New South Wales and beyond. There's something about Sydney which is so appealing and has such a draw with the beautiful harbour, iconic buildings, fascinating history and laid back lifestyle. I'm really going to miss the ferry commute to work where quite a few times I got to see dolphins or whales whilst others are stuck on the highway at rush hour. And I'll miss having a couple of beers after work overlooking the harbour as the sun is setting.

In particular we're really going to miss the Fairlight beach, which is right on our doorstep where we could go snorkeling, kayaking, sunbathing or swimming whenever we like. and although this summer has gone down as one of the coldest and wettest in history, you won't hear any complaints from us as we had plenty of amazing weather during our time here.

Manly is a stunning place with a vibrant atmosphere and lots to do, I don't think we could have lived anywhere better from a lifestyle point of view. Plus there's always something going on, whether it's a food and wine festival, live jazz music, surfing competitions, you name it.

We really feel we have made the most of our time here too, we have explored far and wide and really experienced what Sydney has to offer. From fish and chips at Watsons bay and surfing in Manly to opera at the Sydney Opera house and sailing in Sydney harbour, it's been such an adventure.

Whilst we knew it wasn't forever and we still have lots to look forward to, it is still hard to accept that our trip is so far along already. I guess time really does fly when you're having fun.

So it's the end of a chapter, but whilst it feels like the end of the trip we still have a couple of months to go and plenty of adventuring up ahead.
