arrived in tofo on after a long journey from vilanculos by minibus, and at Maxixe i got off, got a boat across the bay to inhambane and then another minibus to Bamboozi beach lodge. when i arrived i was shown to my hut, a 3/4 reed wall with a gap and then a thatched roof and a mattress on the floor. the next day i went for a bit of a beach explore and down to the centre of town. its a beautiful long beach with dunes all along side and you can see whales from the beach. on my walk some kids came with me and tried to teach me how to roll a bicycle wheel with a stick which was suprisingly difficult and i didnt get the hang of it.

i retried the diving thing here and had a nice dive to a basic site where we saw lots of nice colourful fish and slugs, moray eels and other nice and nasty things as we cruised along the side of the reefs wall.

the next excursion was out to the whale sharks, the worlds largest fish, and we snorkled with them which was a incredible experience as these animals are ridiculously huge but completely docile and eat only plankton. we managed to spot and swim with 5 and then we spotted some humpbacks so we sped out to them and followed them closely for a while

spent most of my days here relaxing on the beach or swimming in the sea, which had some great waves for body surfing, was planning to do a dive to manta reef to see manta rays but the weather took a turn for the worse and i went to another(more difficult) site which was 30m down and since i was only qualified to dive to 18m i had to do an advanced deep dive course and on the day we went out it was fairly choppy and we had to do a negative entry, which means plummeting down to the bottom as quick as possible to avoid being swept away by the current. the dive was really incredible, we saw loads of morays, lionfish and other things that could kill me but the highlight was the rays we saw. we saw 3 huge rays one of which was a manta. they are incredible animals  as they appear to fly through the water. as we ascended we heard the deafening sound of whale song that was incredibly close although we didnt get to see any.
