Beer Please!

After the jaunt around Cesky Krumlov Kirst jumped in the drivers seat and we headed for Prague. Passing swarms of cars going in the opposite direction we wondered whether there was something we didnt know.....a quick consult with the Lonely Planet let us know that tomorrow is a public holiday in Czechland....everyone must be heading rafting to Cesky Krumlov.

Locking in a converted garden as a campsite we headed into town. The temps pushing 30ś it was t-shirt, shorts and jandals weather. The old town was buzzing with tourists. We weaved our way around the streets of the old town. Again the archetecture and buildings dominated the scene....hung around the astronomical clock for the hourly 'show' and then headed to the nearest bar for a cool down ale....all one litre of it for 2 bucka....deal! After a rehydration session we pottered around again beofre finding some traditonal Czech kai for dinner....some meat in a sauce with bread dumplings....solid feed!

After dinner we headed home / legged it to the tram as the heavens opened again and the evening thunderstorm rolled....a constant in these parts. Old tenty is doing it tough.....im not sure the Tesco special would of lasted 2mins over here.

The next morning was pretty lazy, a few skype sessions and we headed into town around lunchtime. By this time it was blistering hot and it didnt take too long for the singlet dork marks to form. We headed down to the river and headed across crowded Charles Bridge the scene of many a nation defining exploits....revolutions, executions etc. It is lined with statues of all sorts of figures. On the otherside zou are in the Lesser Town and the castle area. The walk thus far in the heat deserved a rest break so we headed to the nearest bar for a cold pivo....gold!

after we continued our walk around the lesser town deciding not to scale the hill to the castle above.....we naturally headed to another bar, more pivo and more traditional Czech fare....this time roast pork in sauce with dumplings....they can keep the braised cabbage though!

We got home just as the rain started to fall again and again we settled under the campsite verahda for the evening. We got chatting to an English couple for a fair few hours. They too are on a trip around Europe....the B Tour as they called it...only stopping at places beginning with B (Prague being an exception apparently)...retired they obviously have a bit of time on thier hands.
