Beautiful Umbria

We have landed in the beautiful countryside of Umbria in a small town called Todi. This is exactly what you see in your mind when you envision the rolling hills of vineyards and olive trees.
Today we hooked up with our tour guide Anne. She is a real gem and must have if you ever come here. She guided us through the streets of Montefalco and then took us to a fabulous restaurant in the country. We enjoyed a six course meal and many glasses of home grown wine. This was your typical family owned restaurant with mom and pop cooking and brothers serving the food. All the food, including truffles, lamb, pork shin, ravioli and salad were from their farm. Tomorrow Anne will take us to Assisi and to another feast of fine food and local wine.
Weather has been fairly good. A few days of rain mixed with sunshine. We now have a private driver who takes us from each spot. His name is Nicolli and he is a God send. Our eight person van is perfect and even had enough room for all our luggage!
