Lillehammer situated in central Norway on the northern tip of Lake  Mj°sa and home to the 1994 Winter Olympics, even though this small town of 20,000 people only held the ice-hockey, ski jump and some downhill skiing. Other disciplines were held in nearby towns of Hamar and Hunderfossen; the latter is home to the Bobsleigh track.

Lillehammer is a very tidy, compact town with everything in an easy walking distance, it is very easy on the eyes with the lake to the west and forested hills to the west. The biggest eyesore here is the ski jump on top of the hill, however the view from the top is good. The ski jump is an ideal place if you loves steps, of course to get to the top there is over 900 to overcome. Trying to run up the steps humming the Rocky music gets you a few peculiar looks, however before 100 steps i ran out of music. Otherwise there are only a few museums to visit here.

Hunderfossen is a very small village but home to the Bob-sleigh track. Here you can travel in a wheel bob in the summer for 190 NoK (a bob sleigh where the blades have been replaced by wheels and you are caged in). Completing the course in around 70 seconds, you can reach a speed approaching 100 km/h and a force of 3 G. Alot of money for just over a minute, is you don't like roller-coasters don't try this. If budget is not an issue, it's definitely worthwhile but beware of a sore back and neck at the end.

The best things i found in Lillehammer was being caught in a very heavy shower when which produced an enchanting double rainbow, damn another time i had no camera. Also one night where i saw my first star in the sky. Wait the only star in the sky, pulsating brightly during the night. Another magical moment that money just can't buy.
