Where I stayed
9:47pm off the white sand banks south of Turks and Cicos. 6 crew - no guests and not another person, boat or piece of land in sights.
Smells - the freshest air breathed, with a touch of dustiness like its just rolled of the desert plains in Africa and carried over the sea gathering touches of grass and earth from unknown places.
Sights - slight glow of the moon off of the ocean peaking over the horizon just enough to remind you that there are other beings in the universe and the world is round. Slight curvature of the horizon. Stars and a full moon opening up the sky above reminding me of the childhood light lamps that rotated and danced playful beams of color across your walls
Taste - salty and damp, hint of diesel from our engines running 24/7 enough to remind you of the crossing but not enough that you are still allowed to transport your ming and body into the universe and open sky
Feel - I sit with my eyes closed and feel the kiss of the warm ocean breeze as it crosses my cheeks and tickles my skin. A slight cool twitch on the end brought down from the northern atmosphere as the trade winds are refilled with fresh air and moved around towards land. A nothingness that surrounds your aura and takes even the most uptight and closed people into feeling and releasing their mind to a higher plain. I sit here listening to mellow music, soulful and uplifting the best kind to unburden my spirit. I feel as if I am having an out of body experience as I feel at peace. This never happens to me. I try to take a mental snapshot and hold onto this release. I feel no stress, no tension and one with myself. It is nature at its purest and this is why mother earth has opened her arms to me tonight. Meditation.
This brings a time to remember close friends who can only be here in memory. I cry. I hurt. I release. Forever young…
Its yours and my turn to live for those that we have lost. Live strong, live free, live for your spirit. I am remembering you.
