Boarded the bus for the 9hour journey to Bajawa,a town half way to where I wanted to get to,which was eventually the mountain town of Moni, base for trips up to Kelimutu the volcano with 3 different coloured lakes in its craters.

Knew as soon as I got on was going to be one of worst journeys so far, already feeling really rough with headache and flu symptoms and no sleep from night before got on tiny bus, rammed with locals had to climb over sacks of rice to seat so small couldnt put my feet flat on the floor and also with all the windows shut it seemed every local on the bus decided to spark up the local thick brand of fags to try and choke everyone.
We stopped once for 20minutes and had 3locals being sick out of the window as the roads were just winding all the way round the volcanoes and mountains with near vertical climbs in some parts, eventually pulling into Bajawa after 10hours on the bus.The way they work here though is different, the bus stops 1km out of town and not straight to the bus terminal, where you are met by 20odd hustlers pushing and grabbing you to get into their bemo(tiny rattler van)or onto the back of their motorbike, this way everyone stays employed!
Checked into Hotel Eidelveis for 70,000=the most i'd paid so far in Indonesia around 3.50pounds but didn't have a choice.Nothing in Bajawa and really cold, went to get some food in one of only food places and was told an hours wait as it was full of French hikers-the place was warmer than my room and so decided to stay there as felt really crappy flu, even put on my Billabong rash vest to warm me up under a jumper and ended up sleeping in it,it was THAT cold!Up next morning at 6am for the local bus to Ende, the hotel owner ordered me to sit down and eat some breakfast bless her,was expecting just a tea and piece of bread or something but out she came with a banana pancake, tea and plate of fruit salad and even hailed down the local bus teling him to wait outside while I finished my breakfast, what a star.
4hours sat on the bus to Ende with the most annoying tape playing 3 of the local hi scream weird pop songs OVER and OVER again while the ticket collector lad danced around on his toes hanging out the side of the bus shouting the destination to everyone that passed.Eventually got to Ende after 4hours,same again dropped on outskirts and jumped on back of motorbike and taken to Hotel Ikhris near the airport.Checked in for 35,000 a night.Had a look around the town, for 2 days only saw 2 other white people and everywhere I went around town had people shouting from all directions,"HELLO MISSSSTER!!!!"
I was like a film star or something, little kids running up to me and laughing shaking my hand and girls stopping me to ask my name and literally every 10seconds I was replying hello to someone!Got a bit much after walking round the town for 3miles!

Got a bike to the bus terminal for 11am next day only to be told it wasnt running and there was a bus at 1pm from another bus stop 7km away and so had to take another bike over the other side of the mountain where I waited for 1/2 hour with people hassling and pushing stuff. Finally got on the bus and started the winding road up through the mountains.Made the mistake of sitting on the back seat of the bus, realised then why a bloke had called it "the ejector seat!" the road was horrendous, half finished hanging over the sides of a sheer drop and with pot holes 4 feet deep and lost count of the times I hit my head on the roof which was abotu 2 feet above me!Pulled up in Moni at 3pm and greeted by a Rasta/Indo chap who owned the Wonaguana guest house,40,000 a night
