Arrived at 10.40am absolutely knackered and vowed never to do it again. We did our usual taxi tout avoidance and headed straight to a café for a syrupy coffee and met Mr T (nothing like The Mr T, but rather a skinny Thai man) and his Easy Rider business, we bypassed his suggestions of jumping on the back of his 400cc for a tour of Southern Vietnam and instead we fleeced him for a cheap taxi fare from Danang to Hoi An, as we were getting in the taxi the driver got into a minor altercation with a 'legitimate' taxi man, we quickly headed off to our hotel.

We arrived at the Sunshine Hotel, ironic since the rest of the day poured buckets, we slept through the rest of the day and spent the early evening researching the best bars to go to.

We arrived around 8pm to 'Before and Now' bar absolutely soaked to the core and like drowned rats decided that what we needed was a vodka and coke chased down with a Sambuca shot, let the night begin! In the haze of a perpetual 'Happy Hour' we met Marcus, an Aussie pilot working for Jetstar (having got kicked out of one of the more high profile airlines), and he regaled stories of cabin incidents that would make your hair drop out - and any nervous flier decide to stay out of the skies - Paula looked forward with gusto to the next flight scheduled in SE Asia....

Pretty soon we were all on the vodka cocktails with Sambuca chasers and Vikki's heartburn had reached a level where Paula had to search out a pharmacy for some antacids! The pharmacist had some sound advice; "Tell your friend to take these and stop drinking the alcohol". Paula returned to the bar where Vikki promptly swallowed the pills washed down with vodka and coke. Job sorted. Marcus also had a present for his dodgy stomach - some lovely Ciprofloxacin which we recommended as it had sorted us both out with similar issues before. Trust us, we're doctors...

After a while we moved to the pool table to try and play some pool unsuccessfully, our eyesight was a little impaired so we called it a night and headed home for more well needed sleep.

Lovely to hear from you & glad to see that you are promoting Bayer products, girls! Sounds like Vikki might need a donor stomach when she gets back home, eh??!! Love Mum & Chris xxxxxx
