Vikki had the pleasure of having an ant cemetery in her hair when dawn finally broke and we both literally had ants in our pants. Not being the type of girls to let that ruin our day we went for beans on toast and then did a bit of blogging to catch up with the many entries floating, semi-complete, out there in the ether.

We were approached by a woman who asked us with some ferocity if 'all that commotion last night was caused by our truck..?'. We pleaded innocence (can you count constantly flicking ants out of various bodily locations as a 'commotion'?) but as she gave details we quickly realised that it was indeed one of our girls who had been screeching at 4am. That, combined with some 'sexy-time' occurring on the Beach in the truck, made for an eventful evening by all accounts...

We were reassured to discover that several other tents had been visited by our sociable ant friends - at least now we don't have to take it personally.

We kicked about the campsite with a couple of shandies, had a swim, made some lunch and then set about clearing the ants (and ant corpses) from our tent by washing it inside and out with Savlon and relocating to a spot much less infested. After dinner we managed to spend our remaining Kwacha on some drinks and had a good old natter with the others before some went to bed and the usual suspects went clubbing! Bush camping on the itinerary tomorrow once we cross the border to Mozambique.

Amazingly, we had a relatively ant free night (sorry Nutkins - more talk of animals) although I did notice a persistent scratching sound beneath our tent right by my head which remained a mystery until the morning...
