Got up at 6am and packed away the tent. Realising we had too many Rwandan Francs we decided to treat ourselves to breakfast of omelette and real coffee. We then walked swiftly into town to buy a Rwandan bracelet and called in to say goodbye to Bella. Whilst waiting for the truck to leave a Rwandan lad asked for money and when we refused he said he would just take it. We laughed at him. He then said to Paula "you stand like a man, you like a man". He defintely wasnt getting anything.

We drove across the border to Uganda and on to Lake Bunyonyi - Muko Camp. We bought 'Waragi' gin from the makeshift bar for 70p for 200ml bottles, Vikki was tipsy (mortal and cross-eyed) after just two. Some of our fellow tourists went out on the lake in a canoe (loose term - it was a miracle they made it back!) and saw a fresh water otter.

We stayed on the bank and took in the view whilst drinking gin.

We saw a fisherman hand catch crayfish and debated how nice it would be if we could linger a while by the lake in the sun.

Random fact of the day - If you drained Loch Ness it would be bigger than the Grand Canyon (source: Vikki Kirkwood).

We all liked the gin so much that we agreed to change our plans and stay in Muko rather than travel on to Cepha Inn, as planned. Sweet joy for us but more joy for the lovely family who ran Muko Camp - a very lucrative decision for them!

We settled in quickly and decided to take the $5 upgrade to a pre-erected tent with a bed (piece of foam).

Simultaneously, a large quantity of gin was being purchased from the local bootlegger to accommodate the guzzling Muzungu's (white people). As the rain came down we moved from tent side conflabs to the bar for more socialising. The gin was so potent that none of us noticed that Sam had been locked in the shower for over half an hour screaming for our help. The night is a bit of blur but was punctuated with drinking games and dancing - and Alun coveting Jane's 'fur' - Dirty Bastard.

Our hosts at Muko Camp treated us to dinner - Gorgeous mushroom soup for starter then Vikki had curried freshwater crayfish and the others had mince and roasted sweet potates - delicious!!

Vikki red-carded herself shortly after 8pm and Paula followed not much later after a stint by the camp fire. Nighty night xx

Sorry Vikki...Grand Canyon is 277miles long. Loch Ness 23
Grand Canyon 18 miles wide Loch Ness 1
Grand Canyon 1 mile deep Lock ness 0.15 (755 ft )

So...G.C. is about 5,000 cu miles Loch Ness 3.3 Cu Miles
G.C. is 1,500 times as big but the L.N. monster IS bigger.
