Woke up at 7am for brekkie and met the rest of our excellent tour group;

- Sam        - Max
- Fiona     - Arris
- Kelly       - Jane
- Simone   - Stacey
- Hannah   - Naomi
- Robbie    - Kim

We got in the truck full of excitement and roared off down the dirt tracks towards the great Rift Valley in Kenya.

Stopping at the side of the road we did not buy a Masai blanket, we did not barter for trinkets, we left that to the others and took in the jaw dropping view across the valley and its dormant volcanoes, marvelled at the great river that travels from the mouth of the mighty River Nile in Jordan all the way down to the valley. Vikki then peed in a hole in the ground.

Our group, now looking like the cast of Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat (they did barter and buy Masai blankets – Vikki made do with the one she ‘borrowed’ from Swiss Air) headed to Naivasha for a road side delicacy of goat, greens and white slop. And flies. Lots of flies. Vikki had a banana sandwich. We then both pissed in a hole in the ground. It is very difficult to aim.

We hit the road once more headed for the Kembu Camp site and our first experience of putting up a tent in Africa. Our efforts became a lot more focussed when we realised a torrential African storm was coming our way. After the first biblical downpour had ceased Vikki and I realised with some dismay that we had put our fly-sheet on inside out. Isle of Wight - here we go again!
