Where I stayed
Ngoc Thao Hotel
Whoaaah!
Finally arrived in Saigon after 32 hours of leaving Phuket. One word. Mental.
That's just first impressions of course, though after riding through the psycho-charged kamikaze-arsed traffic for almost an hour to get to the other side of the city to find our bed, the word 'mental' can't be stressed enough. M-E-N-T-A-L. But boy has it made an impression. This place is awesome.
Stories coming soon of course, but for now I'm off to sample a couple of 333's with the ever-alive 'Team Woz' and (naturally) go and get lost in some dodgy looking side streets..

Forget the 333's and find yourself some little shop with primary school plastic chairs outside and sample the Bia Hoi goodness of 6p beer!!!
I Second That!
Go with Rich's suggestion and you won't be disappointed!! HCMC IS bananas but in a really good way which I'm sure you're finding out as I write this.
Go Team Woz!
EVER THOUGH OF PUBLISHING?
Your story is inspirational! You could gather all your diary entries together, perhaps with maps and photographs, and hey presto, you'd have a fabulous travel book/bio: 'The man who sold everything to see the World' or similar. But if you use that, you can contact me, tamsinemilyjane@hotmail.com first, lol! :-D Good luck in your future endeavours and thank you for sharing. We all should be less bound by the rat race and more inclined to follow our hearts, and run away with inspiration. By the way, your photos are captivating.
