The best thing..

I headed there too,
to Luang Namtha my first trip over in 2001. It was where I first ate dog, albeit, not intentionally. Wasn't bad really. A little chewy. saw a few dogs get their heads lopped off in alleyways after that and kinda figured it all out.

I took this crazy ride on a songthaew up there, took forever, froze my ass off in the evening, got shot at by some military guys loooong story....oh the memories. But I loved it there. Stayed awhile, met some really wonderful locals, learned a little Laos-speak, celebrated a wedding with random strangers who were great friends by the end of the night, drank some laos-laos. You onto that stuff yet? The laos-laos? Won't be long now. They'll tell you it's good for you. It's better just to believe them :)
