It has to be said that the Suzuki SV1000S is an animal, an absolute animal, and worlds apart from your regular in line four. This is a different kettle of fish altogether.

As I've never owned a V-twin before it's been an interesting courtship. This baby's grunty, gutsy and full of torque, the kind that catapults you to the horizon in every gear from way down the rev range. The compression is high so you need to know your gearing and have a different kind of precision on the throttle, but once you're both reading from the same page the fun really begins.

I was lucky enough to buy one with full-on race cans, adding a whole explosion of Red Bull to the SV's performance as well as throwing out a deep, throaty exhaust note which turns heads from miles around - not in a tacky shitty Harley way but in a 'what the bloody hell's that?' kind of way. She's ferocious. The only way to describe it is to imagine inflating a lion with steroids and taking away her cubs. F***in' insane!

So yeah... we've been getting acquainted, which has involved many rides out around the southern state of Victoria including Port Phillip Bay, St Kilda, Frankston, Phillip Island, 'Hanging Rock' at Woodend and a return visit to Healesville and the Black Spur with young Dusty, an American buddy of mine from Queenstown who happens to be living and working temporarily in Port Melbourne. As the majority of these visits have been in passing there hasn't been a fat lot to write about, other than the fact that some of the views have been superb, which is exactly why I've uploaded the pics. Enjoy..
