Last night was a good one. We arrived in Christchurch around mid-afternoon for a farewell meal and drink with Jen before she left. The others had suggested 'The Bog' which was a nice surprise. I obviously opted for the scrambled beauty which didn't happen to turn out as good as normal. I think it's because of how busy they were but still, it was more than adequate. We had a pleasant time sitting outside in the sun recounting a few memorable moments of Jen's holiday (and funny ones) before wishing Jen farewell. Another sad moment, but they seem to have become quite common now. To mark the occasion we spent the remainder of the evening in The Bog, recounting a few classics and generally making the most of it. It's actually been quite a while since we've all been 'out'.
If it's going to happen to anyone, it's usually me it happens to and tonight it did. Just a small, minor embarrassment, that brought joy to the others. As I was standing at the bar waiting to order I noticed a small, attractive glass bowl of nuts sitting quite nicely on top of the bar. I thought it only appropriate to take a good handful of the complimentary offerings to merrily chomp on while I was waiting for the next available bartender. I shuffled them forward in my hand and started to tilt my head back when a woman promptly came over (obviously having just come back from somewhere) and quite urgently said 'excuse me but they're mine!' I'll leave the rest to your imagination but it was a good one.
I've spent the majority of today and the early evening in the city uploading the photos and entries, which should see the old Travelogue more or less up to date. It's been a while but feels great to have caught up. After finishing a few other bits and pieces it will be time to plan the next leg of the adventure and get moving. Happy days!
