Today we left our little city of Tobermory and rode the same one lane highway back to Craignure, from there we took the same ferry back to Oban. Sean was supposed to join us over in Tobermory but he never made it there, We were a little worried about meeting up with him again after what happened at the beginning of the trip. But we walked to our car and he called from a pay phone. The last ferry on 7/30 was sold out so he stayed an extra night in Oban.

The drive from Oban to Glasgow was amazing and we stopped off once at the Glencoe Visitor Center. We enjoyed the views and made our own trail in the woods in hope to see some mountain sheep or cows. A wired fence ended our journey before it really got started. But anyway, we had some lunch there and drove to Glasgow. It rained the entire way and we did not stop anywhere else along the way. We cannot find our pictures from Glencoe, very sad.

Glasgow is one of the most modern cities in the United Kingdom and it kind of feels like being in San Francisco or Seattle. Our guesthouse is close to the University of Glasgow which was established around 1451 and is the fourth oldest university in the UK. We are learning so much!

We went out to dinner and some bars after that, but we were definitely underdressed. Sean and I were unable to get into a couple bars because we were wearing tennis shoes. These were bars right by the university and everyone was dressed up like it was a wedding reception. So, we finally get into a bar and I order a beer for Sean and I, price is $9.60 pounds. That is almost $18 in American! We left the bars and went to the local store to buy a couple beers to drink in our rooms and watch a moive. That did not work either because in Scotland you cannot buy alcohol after 10pm. I miss America! We are going to be happy to leave Glasgow.
