Take note Yarra Trams. Here in Budapest are some of the world's longest trams, so surely if they can do it here, why can Melbourne not follow suit and get longer trams. The trams in Melbourne are getting more and more crowded every week and then they have the cheek to criticise people who refuse to pay the fare.
Must admit I have never missed paying a fare, not even over here in Europe, something I can say that Dave can not say :-)

this is a train :)
About 15 years ago, there were triple-carrige trams in Vladivostok, each carrige was about 1.5 length of this 6-caggide one. But this one is still longer.
Re: this is a train :)
There are two routes on my street, route 4 & 6 and I can tell you that a tram for each route rides past here every 2 minutes. They always seem full to the hilt. From about 5.00pm til 6.30pm the tram stop outside our place has about 100 ppl waiting for it, even though a metro station is right below the stop.
What comes past though even more frequently than the trams is a police car, ambulance, fire, or one of many other vehicles with sirens blazing. I can just about set an egg to boil.
