Next we drove fom Jasper to Whitler. It's about a 9 hour drive plus stops on the way so it was a long day. The first part of the drive was pretty scenic and straightforward. We made some videos for Stuuuuuu on the way with the local 80s radio station music! We stopped in Kamloops for lunch and quickly left again, it's worse than Tranent. After that it was a fairly standard drive for a few hours. Then we hit roads that twisted and turned their way up mountains, with some of the roads pretty uneven and some with sheer drops on one side. It was all pretty hairy, they weren't very wide roads either and after a while the bridges we went over were wooden and looked quite ramshackle. There were also some very very steep parts that were a bit terrifying! But we survived and made it to Whistler in one piece! We also think we spotted a wolf on a frozen lake near the beginning of the drive, it was pretty far away and we were driving so we didn't get a good look but we're sure it was and that's good enough for us!

Our hotel in Whistle ris brilliant. It's central, reasonably priced, we have a hotub in the room, a gas fire and a balcony. Our favourite bit is the kitchenette which means we've been able to cook and eat in, going out for dinner every night gets a bit dull. Whistler is a really laid back place so we've really relaxed here, it's been a nice slow part of the trip, spent lots of time just chilling out in the room. There's a snow/music festival on here at the moment but we've done our best to avoid most of it. It's a lot of dodgy rappers and not really our thing but it adds to the relaxed atmosphere and we got some free stuff out of it!

However, yesterday we did go Ziptreking! We did 5 ziplines between the two big mountains here. Ziplines are basically big flying foxes, they were much higher and longer though. The longest was 1100 feet - which is as long as the eiffel tower is tall! Mhairi of course spent a lot of time freaking out but managed really well, did them all and actually enjoyed it after the first couple. It's just a matter of going for it and after the first second or two it's actually great fun and the views are great. Scott took it all in his stride and enjoyed it all. It was a great experience and we're glad we did it. The company are also really ecofriendly and carbon neutral so they were trying to push the eco-awareness in the group which was good to see.

Today we went snowmobiling, we both drove out own snowmobiles. It was great fun and another random thing neither of us had ever done before. We had about 2 hours on some fairly wide, but very scenic routes and managed to get to a reasonable speed. It was awesome.

We've really liked relaxing our pace in Whistler. It's going to get busier again in Vancouver tomorrow!

Hi Guys,
just been looking at all your photos - they're good. the scenery is fantastic. looks a bit chilly mind you. Will let dad see them at the weekend when he comes home from london. Hope you're having a ball and no doubt speak soon. Take care.
