We had talked many times of all the great outdoor things we were going to do in the Arcata area, but of course the day we arrive it was the worst storm of our trip so far. We are talking sideways rain, cold, stormy, nasty weather. Therefore, we quickly went to Plan B "Screw the Outdoors-Lets Drink!"
We headed to Town Square/Plaza for some very Spicy Bloody Marys and a little downhome atmosphere. This was just the warm up for the main event during the day of good old fashion bowling. Now I have been known to bowl (At Least one game over 200) but I started off pretty weak with a 97, but
After bowling we headed home for a true cookout with beef, venison, beer, and oh ya salad. The night concluded with some air hockey and very large glass of red wine to go with the case of beer each of us drank during the day.
The next morning (actually it was like 11:30) we got up and headed to the Eatery for some Fishermen's Mess (Hash Browns, covered with gravy, bacon, and three eggs) or better known as a heart attack or the meal that took Scott OUT! After getting wheeled out we drove up to do some hiking to find the road closed because of the storm so we went to our secondary spot for some easy hiking and just amazing views!
The day ended with us agreeing Andy was dangerous and like Las Vegas you can only hang out there for a couple of days before the body shuts down. Or simple put...A Fantastic Time!!!!!!
