We made the 12 hour journey by train, which included our train rolling right onto a fairy to cross the water, to get to Copenhagen. I have one word for this city - EXPENSIVE. Our hotel was right on the train tracks and had no air conditioning and set us back over $150 a night. Even worse we found out the hard way that a small soda was $4.50. ouch. We stayed here a few nights and did go out to see the sights of the city.

Of course the famous Mermaid attracts a lot of attention. It is right off the water and we were there about 10 minutes during which time 3 boats with about 50 people each got close enough for a picture and then turned and went back. Of course there were even more people taking pictures from the boardwalk. Luckily we had a beautiful day. We also went to the Tivoli Gardens at night. This is their amusement park and rumor has it that Walt Disney visited this park and got inspiration for Disneyland. We could actually see some of the similarities, When it got dark, or dusk, they turned on thousands of lights to light up the entire place which was beautiful. We listened to some bands, heard the screams from the roller coasters, had some ice cream and a beer and covered the grounds to check out all the gardens. It was a very nice place, but of course no Disneyland!

A highlight of the city had to be a Mexican Restaurant we stumbled upon the first night we were there. It was a bit fancy - they had wine glasses on the tables, but it was definitely Mexican Food - and the food was good! That is extremely hard to come by while traveling so we were in seventh heaven!
