Got an early start - clear roads and sun shining. There was a freshness about the place after the storm the night before. More divine little backroads with barely any traffic - just the way we like it. Coulda done with a few more twisties tho.

Got into Tamworth mid morning and studied the map. I could backtrack to Walcha and do Thunderbolt's Way again - or down thru Nundle and back onto the highway. The highway would be tediously boring but would take me home in a few hours...

Nundle won - mostly because it was virgin territory for me and one of the locals said it was a great little run. It was lovely, the road surface not too patchy and the countryside stunningly beautiful as always. Nundle is a sleepy little town with logging trucks making up the majority of the traffic.

After that I just blasted down the highway to Singleton and got my fix of twisties on Putty Road. It was nice to be back on home ground... I know the Putty Road well and it has to be one of the best roads in the state. Great surface, good corners and signage. 171kms of smiles.

Update 2011: my mate Pete has changed Mac's name to Mrs Mac - as she has now done 50,000kms and he thinks she is now a Grande Ole Dame.
