We woke up early as the sun is up before 5:00am but we slept in until about 7:20. There are no showers at the campground,  (showers are $2 for 4 minutes just outside the camp area) so we took off for our first activity.  There is an Earthcache program through geocaching that I wanted to do so we went to the first coordinates of that.  The instructions said that you did not have to look for a physical object so we read the info on the sign and could not figure out the next clue so we looked on the internet and thought they just hadn't given me all the information at the visitor center.  We next parked near Hadlock Lake and did a 3.6 mile bike loop.  There were some neat carriage trail bridges including one that had a waterfall under it.  Next we drove up and did the witches pond carriage trail which was 4.5 miles and saw Duck Brook Bridge which was a the arched bridge.  Then we drove up to the visitor center to ask about the Earthcache program and actually the clues are written on the backs of the sign. Grrrr, so back we went to the first clue spot and sure enough there was the next clue on the back.  We got the clue and headed up to Cadillac Mountain so I could do the ranger program called Cadillac Summit.  We ate lunch, then we listened to the 30 minute talk.  After this we went to the Beach and Miles decided to swim in the 55 degree water which I chose to look for the next earthcache clue on a 2.4 mile round trip hike.  When I reached the destination I discovered that there was more hiking involved to get the next coordinates so I went back to the beach because I knew Miles would probably be about done and sure enough he was walking up the hill right as I arrived.  We did the .8 miles by Gorham’s mountain together to get the coordinates.  This lead us north, we found the 5th and final clue, then decided it was time for supper.  We went into Bar Harbor and got Subway.  Next we went to an internet café, my first Wifi access in almost a week. After this we will take the most expensive shower ever!
