This was a lovely exceptional year in 2007, has always i love entering in competitions by internet or magazines etc, there was one competition i entered this particular year was to choose any subject you like and e-mail it back, well i started to write my feelings, thoughts on Michael Schumacher and i e-mailed it off, it was quite a long time and i just shrugged it off saying to my husband, there we go another one without telling me how i got on, while a week after that starting a new month and i recieved through the post a invitation card and the host was Mr Jean Teesdale, a chairman of Wycombe District Council, so i telephoned and told them i will not be attending has i throught this is a tennants discussion in the Crowne Plaza hotel. her secretary said to me its not a discussion about tennants, she nearly slipped the suprise, so i said my goodbyes and then the phone ran again this time from my local mayor, he told me that Mrs Teesdale phoned him and she was upset why i refused the invite. just like Mrs Teesdale he pleaded, well i gave in and i told him i want my husband and son to come too, he says that will be ok, he picked us up for this evening event.I could see loads of people i never knew and they had different badges then what we had, some was from the media of the BBC and others were ambassadors from differents parts of the world.and there was a camera man like a paparazzi taking photos of my family and i, Mrs Teesdale laid on a lovely 5 star spread with some foods i used to eat while i was jetsetting when i was single with my parents and brother
. Bill my husband and Linwood our son felt slightly uneased as this is the first time they have ever been in a first class hotel, i felt at home. then i saw someone arrange some glass awards out on the stage , i throught very hard and i told Bill and Linwood they agreed with me, this invite isnt on and about rent etc. then they stopped the music has they hired out a jazz band, the master of cermonies was reading out aloud to whom these glass trophies was to be given as Mrs Teesdale presented them, my name was called out in which i had a shock, and everyone was clapping and saying go on pick up your trophy. the master of ceremonies mentioned to say sorry Mr Michael Schumacher cant be with us tonight has he has other engagements elsewhere, then it clicked in my head, i cried as i was happy to be awarded this and coming 1st prize for the best Michael Schumacher entry. Mrs Teesdale was also a fan of this great celebrity she told me how long she had supported/followed him, it was in 2000, when i told her i began follwing/suppoprting Mr Schumacher since 1991. she gave me a brown envelope, i wondered what this was, she told me as you know all the others had flower posies and you have something to help me. i was quite excited so i waited until i arrived home it was so sweet of her she gave me a signed cheque for £25.00. towards my publishing fee. i sent her a signed copy and she loved it.
