Hi Everybody-
Please checkout the pictures from this weekend and see Wat fun we had (Wat means "temple" in Thai). Ayutthaya is about 1 1/2 hours north of Bangkok and was once the capital of Siam (Thailand) from the 13th to the 17th century. It is known as the "Ancient City" and has an unbelievable amount of temples. I could go into pages and pages describing these temples and their history and so on, but I realize that we are History majors so we dig this stuff, but that doesnt mean that everyone else does. SO, I added some brief descriptions to each picture but thats about all Im going to do. If you are interested in learning more about the ruins at Ayutthaya please feel free to email us. It was a very fun day and really cool to see the history of a people that we currently live amongst. Thanks for reading!
