After three nights in the lights and history of Paris we took to the road again heading Southwest. We veered off the main raods and stuck with the winding narrow streets of the French countryside. We absorbed the lovely countryside through our car windows until late into the night finally laying our head to rest in the tiny village of St Ave. We found one open hotel, booked a room and Burk and I went in search of dinner, finding a single quiet restaurant which we had entirely to ourselves. With a menu all in French and our phrase-book offering little help we pointed to dishes and braved the consequence. A fanstastic decision. It's not just the Parisians who do food well.
