Packing is no fun

Getting ready for going away is an almost tiresome task. Yes, you should in theory be very excited about the fact that you have effectively an eight month holiday coming up, but preparing is certainly not a holiday. Now, maybe I am having a harder time with combining spending vast sums in Boots with being a personal hand-slave to my mum with her broken hip, but it seems that every day I realise I forgotten to do something. Between drugs and insurance and endless "safety" purchases, I am getting less of the fun vibe and more of the task vibe. Gosh, what a grump I am! Of course, I'll be much more excited and happy nearer the time, but honestly, how does one go about packing for a trip to Everest followed by teaching in the Thai jungle? Hence the fact I have now taken over the spare room with all of the potential contents of my rucksack everywhere (see pics!). And the worst of it, I'm not even taking that many clothes! Instead its mosquito nets and first aid kits. Ah the glamour.
