Tuesday, March 22 - Wednesday, March 23 - We took a dingy ride along the coast of Guana Cay looking for a new snorkeling spot. Saw lots of beautiful cottages and villas. Back at the marina we got to see two nurse sharks feeding on conch scraps being thrown by a fisherman. We can't get over how clear the water is. It's just as good as snorkeling. We saw our first Frigate bird. They look so prehistoric. Yesterday we say a huge Manta Ray below the boats. Wednesday we all got together for an afternoon of snorkeling at Nipper's beach among the reefs. Denny found a lobster in a crevice in about 10 feet of water but he forgot to bring his Hawaiian sling. Chad tried to grab it but it dug itself in and stood its ground. So Chad & Denny went ashore and Chad found a large stick and proceeded to sharpen it the old fashioned way, using a stone, just like a caveman. They went back in and found the lobster in the same spot and tried to spear it. Using gloves Chad grabbed a tentacle and it broke off. Then the lobster pinched Chad's finger and at that point they knew the lobster had won. It was close though. They almost caught our dinner! There will be another time. Back to the boat and we had our farewell pot luck with Chad & Julie and Mercedes and Dale on shore. It was another spectacular sunset and then the stars were just beautiful.
Thursday, March 23 - We watched the freight and supply freightor from Nassau come into the harbor this morning. They come here once a week. One couple was waiting on shore for a mattress and several restaurants were waiting for supplies. There are no Home Depots or Lowe's or Walmarts on any of these islands. But who misses them! Tomorrow we move to Green Turtle Cay.
